What a Lead Category Buyer actually does

A lead category buyer is hired to own a slice of work neighbouring titles cannot fake on paper.

Operations, people, logistics, and programme jobs sit in operators, NGOs, and shared-services hubs. Remote ops for global companies is common. The resume should show a process you owned, a volume, and what broke when you were away.

On a Lead Category Buyer resume, African and remote hiring teams look for audit or donor finding rate. Put that in the top third. Do not open with a personality paragraph. Do not invent a growth rate or salary band you cannot source.

A Lead Category Buyer summary that earns the next line

Two or three sentences. Title, years, the environments you know, and one result. Then rewrite it in your voice. This is a shape, not a script to paste with someone else’s years.

“Lead Category Buyer with 8+ years across African and remote teams. Known for audit or donor finding rate. Comfortable with vendor management, OKRs, workforce planning. Looking for a lead category buyer seat where that work is the job, not a side task.”

Lead Category Buyer KPIs and OKRs that belong on a resume

OKRs

Raise SLA hit rate on one corridor or queue without adding headcount.
Replace tribal knowledge with an SOP the next person can run.
