Resume Bullet Rewriter
Hiring managers skim. A line that starts with "Responsible for" is a duty. A line that starts with a verb and a result is evidence. This rewriter is a first draft: it upgrades the opening and flags where a number would make the claim real.

Four steps
How to use this tool
- 01
Paste one duty per line from your current job or an old CV.
- 02
Generate rewrites. Keep the ones that still sound like you.
- 03
Replace "(add a metric)" with a real figure: people, time, money, volume, or quality.
- 04
Drop lines that are true for everyone in the role.
The anatomy of a bullet that gets read
A working formula is verb, task, context, result. "Led" is the verb. "month-end close" is the task. "for a 12-person finance team" is context. "cut reporting from 8 days to 3" is the result. You do not need all four every time, but you need more than the task.
Metrics can be small. "Trained 6 new hires" is enough. "Handled 30+ tickets a day" is enough. Percentages are useful when you have a before and after. Do not invent revenue you cannot defend in an interview.
This rewriter rotates strong verbs so a block of bullets does not all start with "Managed". Read the output aloud. If you would not say it, edit it.
Metrics that work when you do not have USD figures
Many African roles do not publish revenue. That is fine. Use what you touched: number of branches, states, or countries; size of the team; turnaround time; error rate; students taught; patients seen; campaigns shipped; uptime; audit findings closed.
Name the stack when it is the point of the job. "Built dashboards" is weaker than "Built Looker dashboards used weekly by 4 country managers." Tools belong in the bullet when they are scarce, not when everyone has Excel.
If a role was informal or a family business, still write it as work. Scope, customers, and tools are valid even without a corporate title.
Common mistakes
- Starting every line with "Responsible for" or "Helped with".
- Listing every meeting you attended.
- Using "various" or "multiple" instead of a count.
- Copying the job description back as bullets.
- Leaving the "(add a metric)" prompt in the file you send.
Bullet Rewriter FAQ
Is this AI writing my resume?
No. It is a structured rewrite: a verb bank plus a metric prompt. You still choose the facts. That keeps the voice yours and avoids invented experience.
How many bullets per job?
Three to six for a current role. Two to four for older roles. The latest job should carry the weight. Internships can be two strong lines.
What if I cannot share numbers because of NDA?
Use relative measures: "cut cycle time by about a third" or "supported the largest regional account". Avoid fake precision.
Should I rewrite volunteer work the same way?
Yes, if it is relevant. "Organised a 200-person campus vote" is work. Keep it in Experience or a separate Leadership section, not as a hobby line.
