What a Interior Designer actually does

A interior designer is hired to own a slice of work neighbouring titles cannot fake on paper.

Studios, in-house brand teams, media houses, and remote clients hire on the work, then on whether you can take a brief. Africa-to-global freelance is common. Put the craft in the portfolio and the outcomes on the resume.

On a Interior Designer resume, African and remote hiring teams look for engagement or completion on shipped work. Put that in the top third. Do not open with a personality paragraph. Do not invent a growth rate or salary band you cannot source.

Contact on a Interior Designer resume

01
Name, city, phone with country code, professional email.
02
A portfolio URL that loads on a phone.
03
LinkedIn or Behance. One is enough if the work is there.

A Interior Designer summary that earns the next line

Two or three sentences. Title, years, the environments you know, and one result. Then rewrite it in your voice. This is a shape, not a script to paste with someone else’s years.

“Interior Designer with 6+ years across African and remote teams. Known for engagement or completion on shipped work. Comfortable with motion or stills pipeline, print and digital specs, feedback rounds. Looking for an interior designer seat where that work is the job, not a side task.”

Interior Designer KPIs and OKRs that belong on a resume

KPIs are the numbers a manager already tracks. OKRs are bets you owned. Either can live in a bullet if you can defend it. Neither belongs as a fake salary or a regional growth statistic.

KPIs

on-time delivery
revision rounds
engagement or completion on shipped work

OKRs

Ship a system other people can use.
Cut average revision rounds on a named client without lowering craft.
Turn one case study into inbound briefs you can name.

What to include on a Interior Designer resume

01
Name, city, phone with country code, professional email.
02
Write a interior designer summary that names years, domain, and one proof point you can defend.
03
Put on-time delivery in the experience block, not in a slogan.
04
