What a Makeup Artist actually does

A makeup artist is hired to own a slice of work neighbouring titles cannot fake on paper.

Studios, in-house brand teams, media houses, and remote clients hire on the work, then on whether you can take a brief. Africa-to-global freelance is common. Put the craft in the portfolio and the outcomes on the resume.

On a Makeup Artist resume, African and remote hiring teams look for on-time delivery. Put that in the top third. Do not open with a personality paragraph. Do not invent a growth rate or salary band you cannot source.

Contact on a Makeup Artist resume

  1. 01

Name, city, phone with country code, professional email.

  2. 02

A portfolio URL that loads on a phone.

  3. 03

LinkedIn or Behance. One is enough if the work is there.

A Makeup Artist summary that earns the next line

Two or three sentences. Title, years, the environments you know, and one result. Then rewrite it in your voice. This is a shape, not a script to paste with someone else’s years.

“Makeup Artist with 4+ years across African and remote teams. Known for on-time delivery. Comfortable with asset handoff, rights and usage, production schedules. Looking for a makeup artist seat where that work is the job, not a side task.”

Makeup Artist KPIs and OKRs that belong on a resume

KPIs are the numbers a manager already tracks. OKRs are bets you owned. Either can live in a bullet if you can defend it. Neither belongs as a fake salary or a regional growth statistic.

KPIs

  • brand consistency
  • production cost versus estimate
  • on-time delivery

OKRs

  • Ship a system other people can use.
  • Cut average revision rounds on a named client without lowering craft.
  • Turn one case study into inbound briefs you can name.

  • Moved on-time delivery by changing the brief process, not by working overnight.
